The duomo in Siena...a beautiful building that
is being restored to its original grandeur.
Days 11 and 12 - Siena
We woke up, saddened at being done with our bike tour, but excited to have so much
of the journey still ahead of us.  One of the hostesses from the hotel, Pamela, gave us
a ride to Grosseto, and from there we hopped on the train to Siena.  We spent two
nights in Siena, enjoying this wonderfully preserved medieval town.  We met Chris, the
librarian from California,  who picked his profession because he wanted a job in
Europe.  There was a week-long Irish festival, the various regions of the city were
warming up for their yearly horse race, and we saw a beautiful religious procession on
our second night.  We dined on the Campo, did laundry, and enjoyed the amazing
atmosphere of a midieval college party town.  Sadly, we took almost no pictures.  Sigh.
 Better luck next city!
Morning in Talmone.
Back on the road again!
