The Dogs' Day Out We took advantage of a dry and warm afternoon to take the dogs on a long-promised bike ride. We went down to campus, and stopped at the creek. The water had gone down further, making it safe for doggy swimming and splashing. They romped around while we watched and took pictures. Now, in the dark of the evening, back at home, the dogs are exhausted and we wanted to share their good time with you. Click to the right for the whole story. (5/27/07)

Apres Cela le Deluge Well, the rain continues, making this a wet, wet spring. The Guadalupe River is up over its banks, local creeks are up over their bridges, and someone seems to be attempting a scale model of the Great Lakes in our yard. It's Erie, it is. The weekend forecast calls for...more rain (surprise!). We pity the folks parking at the Folk Festival for the next couple of days...and we pity the volunteers who will have to push them out. Click on the water droplet to the right to see some pictures. (5/25/07)

Don't be an Old Stick-in-the Mud! We went to the opening night of the Kerrville Folk Festival last night, and had a great time. We wanderered around, peopled watched, and listened to some good music, including personal favorites, the Austin Lounge Lizards. The trouble came in leaving. It's has continued to rain heavily here, and the parking lot field was a mudhole. It's a bad sign when there are cars getting stuck trying to get in to the parking lot...so getting out was fun. We, and everyone else, eventually made it out with the help of an army of hippie volunteers who, with ridiculously high tip of the hat the Kerrville Folk Festival staff...without their cheerfull good help we'd still be in that field. Pamela Comes to Town Well, more accurately, Pamela came to a town near us. Vanessa's madre came to visit for Mother's Day, and she and Vanessa had a great weekend in San Antonio planned. With Vanessa sick, they mostly just hung out at the hotel and did some shopping, but a great time was had by all. Few pictures were taken, but the legs at the right belong to Pamela. They're sitting on a seat that she greatly liked. (5/15/07)
